The Dark Dwarves are a subrace of dwarf.
History
During the Dark Elf wars some Dwarves became captivated by the power of dark magic they witnessed being used against them and decided to cultivate the power themselves. These new Dwarvern Warlocks were tolerated at first for the most part, but their hunger for power caused them to soon be shunned away from traditional Dwarvern Society. Cast away as outcast they retreated away to secluded strongholds which were situated far deeper into the earth than most traditional Dwarvern Strongholds were.
